Mayor Khymer Olaso lauds the Western Mindanao State University – College of Nursing team which won the championship title in the 3rd Metro Pacific Health National Battle of the Nightingales held at the Shangri-la Fort, BGC, Taguig City last October 20.
Olaso said the team’s accomplishment brings honor and pride to Zamboanga City, as he commended each member for showing the brilliance of Zamboangueños.
The WMSU College of Nursing team, composed of Jenny Lynn Balbuena, Alkiestra Samson, and Jericho Philip Ungab together with their coach Murada Ismael, Dean Dr. Rubelle Marshah Ho-Alavar and college faculty members paid a courtesy visit to Mayor Olaso at City Hall Monday, November 17.
Prior to the courtesy visit, the team was presented and recognized during the flag raising ceremony at the City Hall grounds.
The team represented the West Metro Medical Center (WMMC)- Zamboanga City during the competition. It bested 11 other teams representing the different colleges and universities in the country including University Sto. Tomas (second place) and San Pedro College – Davao (third place).
