WMSU honors Loyalty Awardees

The Dr. Juanito Bruno Gymnasium was filled with applause and smiles on February 9, 2026, as the University held a recognition program for faculty and staff who have dedicated 10 to 40 years of public service.

β€ŽThe celebration honored employees for their service (as of 2025): 29 employees with 10 years of service, 16 with 15 years, 19 with 20 years, 8 with 25 years, 6 with 30 years, 5 with 35 years, and 5 with 40 years, including the guest speaker, Dr. Nursia M. Barjose, former Vice President for Academic Affairs. Each milestone represents decades of commitment, daily contributions, and countless hours of work that help the University fulfill its mission.

β€ŽIn her message, Dr. Barjose, who recently retired from service, reflected on her 40-year journey, emphasizing that public service is measured not just in years but in purpose, dedication, and impact.

β€ŽThe program also included an oath-taking ceremony for newly hired and promoted employees, led by the University President Dr. Ma. Carla A. Ochotorena. The moment marked new beginnings and responsibilities, symbolizing the continuous growth of the University community.

β€ŽThe event served as a reminder that the University’s strength lies in its people, through their dedication, perseverance, and passion for service. As the University looks ahead, the program reinforced a shared commitment to excellence, integrity, and the ongoing mission of serving students and the community with loyalty and purpose. (LMP, PAO)
