A TRULY grand homecoming awaits the alumni of Western Mindanao State University (WMSU) this year, University President Dr. Eldigario Gonzales has announced. And, all because WMSU is marking its centennial this year.
Seven days of fun, nostalgia, sports and cultural treats await the thousands of alumni who are expected to come home to roost in their 100-year alma mater. The week-long homecomng will take place on December 11-17, Dr. Gonzales said.
Most of the activities will be held at the WMSU main campus. These include photo and art exhibits, basketball games, gun shooting contests, ethnic dance competitions, concerts, street dancing, museum show, lantern parade, testimonial and awards dinner, and trade fair. The alumni will also hold the usual business meetings and fellowships.
Preparations are being laid down by the alumni affairs office, headed by Dr. Abelardo Atilano, though most of the other departments have been given special tasks by the WMSU president.
Alumni now residing abroad are among the many who are expected to join in the celebrations, as has been the practice in past years. (Rey- Luis Banagudos/PAO-WMSU)
