WMSU and PRO IX Launch P.A.C.E.: A Lifeline for PNP Personnel and Families

Western Mindanao State University (WMSU) proudly partners with the Police Regional Office (PRO) IX in launching the Project for Assisting Caring Engagement (P.A.C.E.), an initiative dedicated to supporting the welfare of the Philippine National Police (PNP) personnel and their families. Officially unveiled on December 3, 2024, at the Bigkis-Lahi Multi-Purpose Hall, Camp Col. Romeo A. Abendan in Zamboanga City, the event was led by PBGen Boweinn Joey M. Masauding, PNP Regional Director, and Mrs. Neriza A. Cadayan, President of the PNP Officer Ladies Club (OLC). Representing Dr. Ma. Carla A. Ochotorena, University President, during the ceremonial MOA signing was Dr. Berhana I. Flores, WMSU Chief of Staff. P.A.C.E. is a beacon of care for PNP personnel and their dependents across the Zamboanga Peninsula, especially those facing life’s toughest challengesβ€”be it terminal illnesses, critical medical conditions, or injuries sustained in the line of duty. The program takes a compassionate approach, offering emotional, medical, psychological, and financial assistance through partnerships, community involvement, and inter-agency cooperation. Through the efforts of its College of Medicine, College of Nursing, and Psychology Department, WMSU will provide medical and mental health check-ups, counseling services, and health awareness sessions focusing on preventive care and mental well-being. These contributions aim to make a meaningful difference in the lives of PNP personnel and their families. By joining hands with PRO IX and other agencies, WMSU continues its legacy of service, compassion, and community upliftment. Together, these efforts pave the way for a future where those who protect us are supported, cared for, and empowered. On the same day, the OLC officers also celebrated the inauguration of the PRO-IX CafΓ©, spearheaded by Mrs. Mary Rose P. Marbil, Adviser of the PNP OLC Foundation, Inc. Additionally, Mrs. Edna U. Masauding launched their heartwarming LAB Virus Campaign (Love and Blessing), which advocates spreading kindness and support to PNP personnel and their families. This initiative complements the goals of P.A.C.E., fostering a community grounded in compassion and resilience.
