The Office of the Vice President for Research, Extension Services, and External Linkages at Western Mindanao State University (WMSU), in partnership with the Socio-economic Research and Data Analytic Center (SERDAC), successfully conducted a five-day training workshop on “Impact Assessment for Extension Project Implementors” from November 25 to 29, 2024, at the RDEC Conference Room in Zamboanga City.

The workshop, led by Dr. Roperto Deluna Jr. of the University of Southern Philippines (USeP), aimed to equip WMSU faculty and research staff with the knowledge and skills necessary to conduct effective impact assessments for extension projects.

The training focused on fundamental concepts such as problem tree analysis, objective tree development, strategy selection, and goal formulation. Dr. Deluna emphasized the significance of logical frameworks and the theory of change in evaluating the impact of extension projects. Participants actively engaged in discussions and presented their work throughout the workshop.

This collaborative effort is expected to enhance the quality of WMSU’s extension projects, fostering academic excellence and positive community impact. (Dr. Anabel Gamorez, SERDAC)
