The Western Mindanao State University–Gender Research and Resource Center (WMSU-GRRC) has once again brought pride to the university after being recognized by the Philippine Commission on Women (PCW) as one of the Top Performing Agencies in the Gender and Development (GAD) Budget for Fiscal Year 2024.
The awarding ceremony took place on September 25, 2025, at the Crowne Plaza Manila Galleria, where WMSU earned two significant distinctions: 8th place among State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) with the Highest Attributed GAD Allocation and 7th place among SUCs with the Highest Attributed Expenditures.
Receiving the recognition on behalf of the university was Dr. Mariam Julkarnain, Director of the GRRC, who expressed that the award is a testament to WMSU’s continuing commitment to mainstreaming gender and development in education, research, and community extension.
This recognition highlights WMSU’s unwavering efforts in ensuring that resources are effectively allocated and utilized to promote inclusive and gender-responsive programs and to further cementing its reputation as a leading institution in advancing gender equality in higher education.
