August 7, 2026 — Western Mindanao State University (WMSU) welcomed its first-year students during the University-Wide Student Orientation held at the WMSU Gymnasium, helping them prepare for their academic journey at the University.

The orientation introduced students to WMSU’s academic environment, institutional policies, campus facilities, and various programs and services that support their academic success and overall well-being.

Representatives from various University offices and service units provided essential information on admissions, testing and evaluation, health services, student affairs, scholarships and financial assistance, guidance and counseling, sports development, library services, career and job placement, disaster risk reduction and management, culture and the arts, gender and development, information technology, registration, and other student support services.

The activity also gave students a better understanding of the resources and opportunities available to them throughout their stay at WMSU. They were encouraged to take an active role in campus life and uphold the University’s core values of excellence, integrity, inclusivity, and service.
